Cut the Cake is fronted by singer and professional actor, Kim Shepherd.
As a performer she has sung in various concerts and cabarets all over Scotland. Most recently stepping into two Scottish dates with the UK Tour of Musical Theatre concert 'Beyond the Barricade' at the Edinburgh Playhouse and Caird Hall, Dundee. She has also performed as part of the Ryder Cup Gala Concert at SSE Hydro, performing with The National Theatre of Scotland as part of their production of 'Glasgow Girls'. Sharing the bill with acts such as Texas, Eddi Reader, Nile Rodgers and Midge Ure. She has worked as a session singer all over Scotland. Acting work include several pantomimes/Christmas shows in Fife/The Lothians, short films and independent feature films.
Alongside Kim, providing the top quality and instantly recognisable music you’ll hear, are 4 of Scotland's most experienced and talented musicians.
On piano, keyboards, occasional guitar, ukulele, vocals (and more!) is Alan Condie who was formerly a driving force with highly respected covers band – Frank and the Twins. Alan played keys for country star, Jackie Storrar's concert in Carnegie Hall in Dunfermline and has backed many more professional acts including entertainer Allan Stewart and Jazz Trumpeter, Kenny Ball.
On bass and backing vocals, Lawrie MacMillan. He has played an integral role in many bands from Celtic/World music group Ironhorse to number one selling band Stiltskin and can be heard on recordings by Ali Ferguson and Amy Duncan. A highly respected musician, Lawrie is the first choice dep for many of Scotland's finest established bands and provide first class bass tuition.
Keeping the beat (and the banter!) in the band is outstanding drummer and percussionist Ashley MacMillan. Ashley has a wealth of experience after playing with many different bands from Celtic/Rock/Ceilidh band Box O’ Bananas to Ray Wilson’s band Stiltskin. His impressive knowledge and ability makes him one of the most sought after drummers in Scotland. Ashley is also a highly accomplished chef and is a tutor at the Edinburgh School of Food and Wine
On guitar and vocals is Edinburgh guitarist Fraser Allan. Fraser has played for some of Scotland's most highly acclaimed events bands, taking him from Caledonian Balls in Africa to performing at Hogmanay celebrations for 2000 people in Glasgow's Merchant Square. His extensive background has allowed him to play various styles ranging from progressive metal to several stints as the sideman for singer/songwriters in the Edinburgh area.
